The B-Pillar reinforcement plates in certain 2025 BMW X1 models may be structurally weak, reducing crash protection for passengers. Dealers will replace the B-Pillar free of charge.

What is recalled

2025 BMW X1 xDrive28i and X1 M35i vehicles with insufficient structural strength in the left and right-side B-Pillar reinforcement plates.

You're affected if you own a 2025 BMW X1 xDrive28i or X1 M35i. Check your vehicle's model year and trim designation on your registration or in your vehicle's documentation.

What to do right now

Contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 to schedule a free inspection and replacement of your B-Pillar if needed. Owner notification letters were mailed May 7, 2025.
