2025 NISSAN KICKS: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BODY CONTROL MODULE/BCM

Certain 2025 Nissan Kicks vehicles may not warn drivers to shift into Park when the engine shuts off, which could allow the vehicle to roll unexpectedly and cause a crash. Nissan will reconfigure a computer module free of charge to fix this safety issue.

You're affected if you own a 2025 Nissan Kicks. Check your VIN and look for owner notification letters from Nissan (some mailed January 29, 2025; more anticipated to arrive by May 7, 2025). You can also contact Nissan with your vehicle information.

What to do right now

Take your 2025 Kicks to a Nissan dealer for a free body control module reconfiguration. Contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 to schedule an appointment and confirm your vehicle is included in recall PMA42.

The hazard

When the vehicle is not in "Park" and the ignition is shut off, the vehicle could move unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a vehicle rollaway and crash.
