The battery control computer in certain 2026 Lexus RZ, Toyota BZ, and Subaru Solterra electric vehicles may fail, causing sudden loss of engine power while driving. Toyota will fix this with a free software update at dealerships.

What is recalled

2026 Lexus RZ, 2026 Toyota BZ, and 2026 Subaru Solterra battery electric vehicles with affected electronic control units (ECU) that manage the high-voltage battery system.

You are affected if you own a 2026 Lexus RZ, 2026 Toyota BZ, or 2026 Subaru Solterra. Check your vehicle's model year on the registration or door jamb label.

What to do right now

Contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 to schedule a free software update at your local dealer. Owner notification letters will be mailed August 3, 2026. If you own a Subaru Solterra, reference recall number WRG26; for Toyota/Lexus, reference 26LA07 or 26TA11.
