Updated May 21, 2026
ABC Trading is recalling three children's toys, a light-up toy headband and two electronic pet cage toys, because the button cell battery compartments can be easily opened by children. If a child swallows a button cell battery, it can cause internal chemical burns and death.

The hazard
The recalled children's toys violate the mandatory standard for toys because they contain button cell batteries and the compartments that hold the batteries can be easily accessed by children, posing a deadly ingestion hazard to children.
