BMW has recalled 2025 R 1300 GS Adventure, R 1300 GS, F 900 GS, F 800 GS, S 1000 RR, S 1000 R, and K 1600 GT motorcycles with the optional emergency call system (eCall) due to a software error that may have disabled the automatic crash notification. If you crash, first responders might not receive your location or emergency alert, delaying help.

2025 BMW F 900 GS, F 800 GS, R 1300 GS Adventure, R 1300 GS, S 1000 RR, S 1000 R, and K 1600 GT motorcycles equipped with the optional emergency call system (eCall).

You are affected if you own a 2025 BMW motorcycle listed above (F 900 GS, F 800 GS, R 1300 GS Adventure, R 1300 GS, S 1000 RR, S 1000 R, or K 1600 GT) and your bike has the optional emergency call system (eCall) installed.
What to do right now
Contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 or wait for the owner notification letter scheduled to arrive September 12, 2025. BMW will update your motorcycle's emergency call system software for free, either over-the-air or at a dealer.
