BMW and Rolls-Royce are recalling certain 2023 to 2025 model-year vehicles because the integrated brake system may malfunction, reducing stopping power or disabling antilock brakes and stability control. Either problem significantly raises the risk of a crash.

What is recalled
Certain 2025 Mini Cooper S, Mini Countryman S All4, and X2; 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre; 2023 to 2025 BMW i7, 7 Series, and X7; 2024 to 2025 BMW i5, 5 Series, X6, and X5; and 2023 to 2024 BMW XM and X1 vehicles. All are sold under BMW of North America, LLC.
Am I affected
You are affected if you own one of the following vehicles: a 2025 Mini Cooper S, Mini Countryman S All4, or X2; a 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre; a 2023, 2024, or 2025 BMW i7, 7 Series, or X7; a 2024 or 2025 BMW i5, 5 Series, X6, or X5; or a 2023 or 2024 BMW XM or X1. Check your VIN at NHTSA.gov starting August 21, 2026 to confirm your specific vehicle is included. Note: if your vehicle was previously repaired under recall 24V739 or 24V104, it still requires the new remedy under this recall.
What to do right now
Take your vehicle to a BMW or Rolls-Royce dealer for a free inspection and, if needed, free replacement of the integrated brake system. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 21, 2026. You can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417, or Rolls-Royce customer service at 1-877-877-3735. You can also check your VIN at NHTSA.gov beginning August 21, 2026.

The hazard
A loss of power brake assist can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle. Additionally, malfunctioning ABS and/or DSC systems can cause a loss of vehicle control. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
