BMW is recalling certain 2025 3 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, and X3 vehicles because the electrical connection between the starter-generator and battery can come loose. This can cause the engine to stall or the wiring to overheat, raising the risk of a crash or a fire.

Certain 2025 BMW vehicles, including: 330i, 330i xDrive; 530i, 530i xDrive; 4 Series Coupe (430i, 430i xDrive); 4 Series Convertible (430i, 430i xDrive); 4 Series Gran Coupe (430i, 430i xDrive); and X3 30 xDrive. Recalled by BMW of North America, LLC. NHTSA recall ID: 25V202000.

What to do right now
Take your vehicle to a BMW dealer for a free inspection and replacement of the starter-generator and positive battery cable as needed. The hazard
