Lifetime Brands Recalls BUILT LUUM Light Up Tumblers Due to Risk of Choking and Battery Ingestion Hazards

Lifetime Brands is recalling BUILT LUUM light-up tumblers because the bottom compartment holding the LED button cell battery can break open, making the battery accessible to children. Swallowed button cell batteries can cause internal chemical burns and death.

What is recalled
BUILT LUUM light-up plastic drinking cups (16 oz. or 18 oz.) with a lid and straw, sold in winter holiday and Fourth of July themes. The item number and UPC are printed on a label on the tumbler's underside or hangtag. What to do right now
Stop using the tumbler immediately and move it somewhere children cannot reach. Then visit builtny.com/pages/recall to complete the Product Recall Refund Form, you'll be asked to throw away the LED base, photograph it in the trash, and upload the photo to receive a full refund. Dispose of the button cell battery through your local hazardous-waste or battery-recycling program. The hazard
The recalled LED tumblers can break, making the button cell batteries accessible to children and posing choking and ingestion hazards. When button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns and death.
