BRP Recalls Can-Am All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) Due to Risk of Serious Injury and Death from Crash Hazard

BRP is recalling certain Can-Am Outlander Pro and Max Pro ATVs because the speed limiter can malfunction, causing sudden, unexpected acceleration. This creates a serious risk of a crash that could result in injury or death.

What is recalled
Can-Am Outlander 500 and 700 Pro and Max Pro ATVs in the following configurations: • Model years 2025 and 2026 equipped with Speed Limiter Mode. • Model years 2023 and 2024 equipped with Speed Limiter Mode that received an Engine Control Module (ECM) software update at a dealership on or after February 3, 2026. Affected colors: Tan, Green, Camo, and Gray. To identify the model year, check the 10th character of the 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): P = 2023, R = 2024, S = 2025, T = 2026. The VIN label is on the front right side of the frame; the stamped VIN is on the front member on the right side of the vehicle.
Am I affected
You're affected if you own a Can-Am Outlander Pro or Max Pro ATV and: • The 10th character of your 17-digit VIN is P (2023), R (2024), S (2025), or T (2026); AND • Your ATV is equipped with Speed Limiter Mode; AND • For 2023 to 2024 models: your ATV received an ECM software update at a dealership on or after February 3, 2026. Check the VIN label on the front right side of the frame or the stamped VIN on the front right member.

Stop using Speed Limiter Mode immediately. Then contact an authorized Can-Am Off-Road dealer to schedule a free software update repair (takes less than one hour).
