BRP Recalls Can-Am All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) Due to Risk of Serious Injury and Death from Crash Hazard

BRP is recalling certain Can-Am Outlander Pro and Max Pro ATVs because the speed limiter can malfunction, causing sudden unexpected acceleration. This can lead to a crash, posing a serious risk of injury or death.

What is recalled
Can-Am Outlander 500 and 700 Pro and Max Pro ATVs for model years 2025 and 2026 that are equipped with Speed Limiter Mode, and Can-Am Outlander Pro and Max Pro ATVs for model years 2023 and 2024 that are equipped with Speed Limiter Mode and received an Engine Control Module (ECM) software update at a dealership on or after February 3, 2026. ATVs were sold in Tan, Green, Camo, and Gray. The model name "OUTLANDER PRO" appears on the vehicle's front side, and "Can Am" branding is on the left rear fender near the tail section.
Am I affected
You're affected if you own a Can-Am Outlander Pro or Max Pro ATV that has Speed Limiter Mode and falls into one of these groups: (1) a 2025 or 2026 model year Outlander 500 or 700 Pro or Max Pro, or (2) a 2023 or 2024 model year Outlander Pro or Max Pro that had an ECM software update done at a dealership on or after February 3, 2026. To confirm the model year, check the 10th character of your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): P = 2023, R = 2024, S = 2025, T = 2026. The VIN label is on the front right side of the vehicle frame; the stamped VIN is on the front member on the right side.

Stop using Speed Limiter Mode immediately. Then contact an authorized Can-Am Off-Road dealer to schedule a free software update, which takes less than one hour.
