Updated August 13, 2026

CuberShop's Magnetic Stickerless Speed Cube (model YJ MGC 5x5) was sold with a separate bag of loose high-powered magnets that children can swallow. Swallowed magnets can attract each other inside the body, tearing or blocking the intestines, and can cause blood poisoning or death.

Is the CuberShop Magnetic Stickerless Speed Cubes, model YJ MGC 5×5 recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by CPSC on August 13, 2026. Details below.

What is recalled

CuberShop Magnetic Stickerless Speed Cube, model YJ MGC 5x5, imported by SKY CUBE HK. The cube is a handheld 5x5 plastic puzzle with six colored sides and the "MGC" logo on the center. The recalled item is specifically the loose spare magnets packaged in a sealed plastic bag inside the product box, which has "MGC" and "5x5" printed on its sides.

Am I affected

You are affected if you have a CuberShop Magnetic Stickerless Speed Cube, model YJ MGC 5x5, and it came with a separate sealed plastic bag of spare magnets. Check the product box for "MGC" and "5x5" printed on the sides. If you have those loose magnets, you are affected. The cube itself is not recalled.

What to do right now

Keep the loose spare magnets away from children immediately and stop using them. Then email SKY CUBE HK at [email protected] to claim your $5 refund. You will be asked to throw the magnets away and email a photo of the disposed magnets to that same address. You may keep the cube itself.

Contact: Email SKY CUBE HK at [email protected].

The hazard

The recalled magnetic cubes violate the mandatory standard for toys because the cubes were packaged with loose high-powered magnets, posing an ingestion hazard to children. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract each other, or other metal objects and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death.
