A2batt is recalling EEMB Lithium-ion Coin Battery Chargers with Rechargeable 2032 Batteries because the coin batteries inside can be easily reached by children. If a child swallows a coin battery, it can cause internal chemical burns, serious injury, or death.

What is recalled

EEMB Lithium-ion Coin Battery Chargers with Rechargeable 2032 Batteries, model SKLC-0420-0040. Each kit includes the charger, four rechargeable CR2032 lithium-ion coin batteries, and a USB cable. "EEMB" appears on the front of the charger; "SKLC-0420-0040" is printed on the back.

What to do right now

Stop using the charger immediately. Remove the coin batteries and store them somewhere children cannot reach. Then contact A2batt for a full refund: email [email protected] or visit www.eemb.com/Recall (or go to www.eemb.com and click "Charger Recall" at the top of the page). A2batt will ask you to write "RECALL" on the charger before returning it. If the batteries are still in their original packaging, do not open it. Instead, dispose of the batteries following your local hazardous waste guidelines and send a photo of the disposal to [email protected].

The hazard

The recalled battery chargers violate the mandatory standard for consumer products containing button cell or coin batteries, because the charger has lithium coin batteries that can be accessed easily by children. In addition, the coin batteries provided with the battery charger are not in child-resistant packaging, and the packaging does not have the warnings, as required by Reese's Law. When button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns and death.
