EEMB USA Recalls Battery Pouches Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Battery Ingestion; Violate Federal Statute for Child-Resistant Packaging of Coin Batteries

EEMB USA is recalling lithium coin batteries sold in individual pouches because the packaging is not child-resistant as required by law. If a young child swallows one of these small batteries, it can cause internal chemical burns or death.

What is recalled

EEMB lithium coin batteries sold in individual white pouches. The recall covers these models: CR2025, CR2032, CR2450, CR2477, CR2016, CR1220, CR1225, CR1616, CR1620, CR1632, and CR2025-10. Batteries come in 5-count, 10-count, or 20-count packs. "EEMB" and the battery type are printed on the face of each coin battery. "EEMB" is printed in the upper left corner of the white pouch.

Am I affected

You're affected if you own EEMB lithium coin batteries in white pouches with any of these model numbers printed on them: CR2025, CR2032, CR2450, CR2477, CR2016, CR1220, CR1225, CR1616, CR1620, CR1632, or CR2025-10. Check the face of the battery and the upper left corner of the pouch for the "EEMB" name.

What to do right now

Stop using these batteries immediately and move them somewhere children cannot reach. Then contact EEMB USA to get a full refund. You can reach them by email at [email protected] or online at www.eemb.com/recall. When disposing of the batteries, follow your local hazardous waste procedures.
