The driver's seat in certain 2025 to 2027 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator vehicles may recline unexpectedly during remote unlock or remote start, potentially trapping a rear passenger and causing injury.

What to do right now
Contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 to schedule a free repair. Ford will disable the driver seat module feature immediately, and once replacement parts are available (anticipated in October 2026), the seat motor will be replaced at no cost. You can also reference Ford recall number 26S53.
