The transmission in certain 2025 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator vehicles may be improperly secured due to loose cross member bolts. This can cause a loss of drive power while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

You're affected if you own a 2025 Ford Explorer or 2025 Lincoln Aviator. Check your owner notification letter (mailed January 29, 2025) or contact Ford customer service to confirm your vehicle's recall status.
What to do right now
Take your vehicle to a Ford dealer for a free inspection and replacement of the transmission cross member bolts. If bolts are missing, the dealer will replace the cross member and install new bolts at no charge. Contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall number 25S03) or visit a dealer.
