A software glitch in certain 2021-2023 F-150 and 2023-2026 F-250 SD trucks can block the rearview camera image when you put the vehicle in reverse, cutting off your rear visibility. This increases the risk of a crash.

What is recalled

2021-2023 Ford F-150 and 2023-2026 Ford F-250 SD vehicles equipped with 8-inch SYNC infotainment screens.

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a 2021-2023 F-150 or 2023-2026 F-250 SD with an 8-inch SYNC infotainment display. Check your VIN on NHTSA.gov (searchable since July 31, 2026) or call Ford at 1-866-436-7332 to confirm if your truck is included.

What to do right now

Contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford will update your truck's software free of charge through a dealer visit or an over-the-air update. Interim notification letters began mailing August 17, 2026; a second letter with remedy availability details is expected in September 2026.
