2025 FORD EXPEDITION: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OIL/LUBRICATION

Ford is recalling certain 2024 to 2025 F-150, Expedition, and 2024 Lincoln Navigator vehicles with 3.5L GTDI engines because a misaligned engine cup plug can cause a rapid oil leak. That leak can stall the engine, raising the risk of a crash, or ignite on hot engine or exhaust parts, raising the risk of a fire.

What is recalled

Certain 2024 to 2025 Ford F-150, 2024 to 2025 Ford Expedition, and 2024 Lincoln Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engine. Ford's recall number is 25S30. NHTSA campaign number is 25V198000.

You're affected if you own a 2024 or 2025 Ford F-150, a 2024 or 2025 Ford Expedition, or a 2024 Lincoln Navigator that has a 3.5L GTDI engine. Check your vehicle's window sticker or owner's manual for the engine designation, or confirm with Ford using your VIN at 1-866-436-7332.

What to do right now

Take your vehicle to a Ford dealer for a free inspection. The dealer will check the engine cup plug alignment and replace it at no cost if needed. Owner notification letters were mailed May 22, 2025. The hazard

A rapid oil leak can result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, an oil leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components, can increase the risk of a fire.
