Ford F-150, F-Series, Expedition & Navigator Recall

2026 FORD F-550 SD, 2026 FORD F-350 SD, 2026 FORD F-450 SD and more: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL

Updated February 20, 2026

Ford is recalling certain 2021 to 2027 model-year trucks and SUVs because the integrated trailer module (ITRM) can lose communication with the vehicle while towing, potentially cutting trailer brake lights, turn signals, or trailer braking altogether. This raises the risk of a crash for the driver and other people on the road.

Is the Ford Motor Company recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by NHTSA on February 20, 2026. Details below.

The hazard

Trailer lights or brakes that do not function can reduce the driver’s ability to control the trailer and decrease the trailers visibility to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash.
