2025 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:TRACTION BATTERY

Hyundai is recalling certain 2025 to 2026 IONIQ 5 and 2026 IONIQ 9 vehicles because the high-voltage battery may contain an improperly tightened bus bar. A loose bus bar can cause a short-circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

Certain 2025 to 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 and 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9 vehicles. This is Hyundai recall number 294. To confirm whether your specific vehicle is included, check your VIN at NHTSA.gov (VINs became searchable February 7, 2026).

Take your vehicle to a Hyundai dealer, the inspection and any necessary repair (tightening the bus bar bolts or replacing the battery assembly) are free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 3, 2026. If you haven't received a letter, call Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 and reference recall number 294.
