2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N Brake Software Recall

2025 HYUNDAI IONIQ 5: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:ELECTRIC:CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE

Updated April 11, 2025

Hyundai is recalling certain 2025 IONIQ 5 "N" vehicles because a software flaw can reduce braking power and cause the car to keep accelerating after you lift off the pedal. Both problems significantly raise the risk of a crash.

Is the Hyundai Motor America recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by NHTSA on April 11, 2025. Details below.

What is recalled

2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 "N" vehicles equipped with the left-foot braking (LFB) and N e-shift features. Hyundai's internal recall number is 277, replacing earlier NHTSA recall 25V-065. See NHTSA recall ID 25V235000.

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 "N" that has the left-foot braking (LFB) and N e-shift features. If you received a recall notification letter (mailed April 25, 2025), your vehicle is included. Vehicles repaired under the earlier recall (25V-065) are also included and need the new remedy.

What to do right now

Stop using the LFB and N e-shift features immediately until the fix has been applied. A software update will be delivered over-the-air (OTA) or installed free of charge at a Hyundai dealer. Contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 to confirm your vehicle's status and schedule service if needed.
