Hyundai is recalling certain 2025 Santa Cruz and Tucson vehicles because a wiring assembly in the console may be routed incorrectly, allowing the transmission to shift out of Park without the driver pressing the brake pedal. This can cause the vehicle to roll away and increase the risk of a crash.

What is recalled

2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz and 2025 Hyundai Tucson vehicles with an improperly routed console extension wiring assembly. Hyundai's internal recall number is 273. NHTSA recall ID: 24V877000.

You are affected if you own a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz or a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. Check your vehicle's model year on the dashboard sticker or registration. If you received a owner notification letter mailed around December 17, 2024, your vehicle is included.

What to do right now

Use your parking brake every time you park until the repair is done. Then take your vehicle to a Hyundai dealer, where they will reroute the console extension wiring assembly at no charge.
