Chrysler is recalling certain 2021 to 2025 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles because the electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring can overheat and start a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and the ignition is off. A vehicle fire significantly increases the risk of injury or property damage.

What is recalled

2021 to 2025 Jeep Wrangler and 2021 to 2025 Jeep Gladiator vehicles (all trims with an electric hydraulic power steering pump), sold by Chrysler (FCA US, LLC). The specific Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) will be searchable at NHTSA.gov starting June 11, 2026. FCA's internal recall reference is 21D.

What to do right now

Until your vehicle is repaired, park it outside and away from structures (garages, homes, fences) to reduce fire risk. Then take it to a Jeep dealer, dealers will inspect and replace the affected steering pump parts free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 9, 2026.
