Jobon Butane Torch Lighter Recall 2026
Jobon Torch Lighters Recalled Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fire and Burn Hazards; Violate Mandatory Standard for Multipurpose Lighters
Updated July 16, 2026
Jobon butane torch lighters are being recalled because they lack the required child-resistant mechanisms, which means a child can ignite them easily. This creates a serious risk of fire, burns, or death.
Is the Jobon butane torch lighters recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by CPSC on July 16, 2026. Details below.
What is recalled
Jobon butane torch lighters with a side ignition trigger and a hands-free operation lock. They come in three color options: gray/brown, gold/black, and camouflage print. The word "JOBON" is printed on the side of the lighter. Sold through Jobon Official Store.
Am I affected
You are affected if you own a Jobon butane torch lighter with a side ignition trigger and hands-free lock. Check the side of the lighter for the word "JOBON." If it matches any of the three color combinations (gray/brown, gold/black, or camouflage print), it is included in this recall.
What to do right now
Stop using the lighter immediately. To get a full refund, write "RECALLED" on the lighter in permanent marker, submerge it in water in a bowl, then take a photo of the marked and submerged lighter and email it to [email protected] (Jobon Official Store). After sending the photo, dispose of the lighter following your state and local waste disposal rules.
Contact: Jobon Official Store by email at [email protected].
The hazard
The lighters violate the mandatory safety standard for multipurpose lighters because they do not have the required child-resistant mechanisms posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards. In addition, the lighters failed to meet the pre-market lighter submission requirement needed to demonstrate that the lighters feature child-resistant mechanisms and ensuring their safety and compliance with U.S. regulations.
