Joyin Expands Recall of Sloosh Dive Sticks Due to Risk of Serious Injury from Impalement; Violate Federal Dive Sticks Ban

Joyin is recalling Sloosh dive sticks sold in three Sloosh water toy sets because the sticks are too rigid and violate the federal dive sticks ban. In shallow water, children can fall or land on a stick and suffer serious piercing injuries, including possible facial and eye injuries.

What is recalled

Sloosh dive sticks made by Joyin, in three models: - Model 40041: sold as part of a 30-piece Sloosh water toys box (includes 5 dive sticks); sold before October 23, 2025. Model number is printed on the back of the box near the barcode and on one end of each dive stick. - Model 40003: sold as part of an 18-piece Sloosh water toys box (includes 4 dive sticks); sold before December 31, 2025. Model number is printed on the back of the box near the barcode and on one end of each dive stick. - Model 16154: sold as a standalone set of 8 dive sticks in a polybag; sold before December 31, 2025. Model number is printed on the polybag above the barcode and on one end of each dive stick. The sticks are cylinder-shaped, made of hard plastic, come in various colors, and measure approximately 7 inches long and 1 inch or less in diameter. Only the dive sticks are recalled, the other toys in the packages are not affected.

You are affected if you own Sloosh dive sticks with model number 40041, 40003, or 16154 printed on the end of the stick or on the box/polybag. Also check the purchase date: model 40041 sticks are recalled if purchased before October 23, 2025; models 40003 and 16154 are recalled if purchased before December 31, 2025.

What to do right now

Stop using the recalled dive sticks immediately and keep them away from children. Throw the sticks away, then take a photo of them in the trash and email it to Joyin at [email protected]. The hazard

The recalled dive sticks violate the federal dive sticks ban because they exceeded the compress limit, posing an impalement hazard. In shallow water, children may fall or land on a dive stick, resulting in serious piercing injuries. Facial and eye injuries are also possible when children attempt to retrieve the sticks underwater.
