KC Imports and Exports is recalling Laser & LED Light Mini Laser Pointer Keychains (model KKC-6071) because young children can easily access the button cell batteries inside. Swallowing a button cell battery can cause internal chemical burns and death.

What is recalled
Laser & LED Light Mini Laser Pointer Keychains, model number KKC-6071 (printed on the product packaging). The keychains come in blue, white, red, black, green, and purple. They were sold individually and in cases of 24. Each laser has a silver sticker with black and silver lettering reading: "HJ, DANGER, LASER RADIATION, AVOID DIRECT EYE EXPOSURE, LASER DIODE, Wavelength: 630-650nm Max. Output: less than 5mW, class IIIa LASER PRODUCT."

What to do right now
Stop using this product immediately and keep it away from children. To get a refund, throw the keychain away and email a photo of it in the trash to [email protected]. You can also call KC Import and Export at 323-268-2803, Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT. When disposing of the button cell batteries, follow your local hazardous waste procedures.

The hazard
The Mini Laser Pointer Keychains violate the mandatory safety standard for consumer products with button cell and coin batteries because the button batteries can be accessed easily by children, posing an ingestion hazard. Additionally, the packaging and product do not have the warnings required under Reese's Law. When button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns and death.
