Kia Niro Airbag & Seat Belt Wiring Recall 2023 to 2025

2025 KIA NIRO: SEATS

Updated January 17, 2025

Kia is recalling certain 2023 to 2025 Niro EV, Plug-in Hybrid, and Hybrid vehicles because the floor wiring under the front passenger seat can get damaged. Damaged wiring can stop the front airbags and seat belts from deploying in a crash, or cause a side curtain airbag to deploy without warning.

Is the Kia America, Inc. recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by NHTSA on January 17, 2025. Details below.

What is recalled

2023, 2024, and 2025 Kia Niro EV, Niro Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and Niro Hybrid vehicles. Kia's internal recall reference number is SC332.

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a 2023, 2024, or 2025 Kia Niro in any of these trims: EV, Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), or Hybrid. Check your vehicle's model year on the driver-side door jamb sticker or registration, and confirm the trim level. You can also look up your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to verify your vehicle is included.

What to do right now

Take your Kia Niro to an authorized Kia dealer for a free inspection and repair. Dealers will inspect the floor wiring assembly under the front passenger seat, replace or reroute it if needed, and install protective wiring covers, all at no cost to you. To schedule service or ask questions, call Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542 and reference recall SC332.
