Louisville Ladder Recalls Over One Million Attic Stairway Ladders Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fall Hazard

Louisville Ladder is recalling over one million attic stairway ladders sold under the Louisville, Featherlite, Lite, and Century brand names because the bolts holding the ladder together can break while someone is on it, causing a serious fall that could result in death.

What is recalled
Louisville, Featherlite, Lite, and Century brand attic stairway ladders with gas struts. The ladders have aluminum or wood frames, come with handrails, and fold into the attic. Frame sizes include widths of 22.5, 25.5, and 30.0 inches and lengths of 54 and 60 inches, for ceiling heights from 7 feet 8 inches up to 12 feet. The brand name and model number are printed on the inside of the attic door.

You are affected if you have an attic stairway ladder branded Louisville, Featherlite, Lite, or Century that has gas struts. Open the attic door and check the inside panel for the brand name and model number. If it matches one of those four brands and has gas struts, it is included in this recall. Stop using the ladder immediately.
