Louisville Ladder Recalls Over One Million Attic Stairway Ladders Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fall Hazard

Louisville Ladder is recalling over one million attic stairway ladders sold under the Louisville, Featherlite, Lite, and Century brand names. The bolts holding the ladder together can break while the ladder is in use, creating a serious risk of a fall that could cause severe injury or death.

What is recalled

Louisville, Featherlite, Lite, and Century brand attic stairway ladders with gas struts. Includes aluminum and wood frame models that fold into the attic and come with handrails. Frame sizes: 22.5, 25.5, and 30.0 inches wide; 54 and 60 inches long; for ceiling heights from 7 feet 8 inches up to 12 feet. The brand name and model number are printed on the inside of the attic door.

Am I affected

You're affected if you own an attic stairway ladder branded Louisville, Featherlite, Lite, or Century that has gas struts. Open the attic door and check the label on the inside of the door for the brand name and model number. Only ladders with gas struts are included in this recall.
