Certain 2022-2025 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, EQE SUV, EQE, EQS SUV, and EQS vehicles have a software defect in their backup warning system that causes an incorrect pedestrian alert sound when reversing. This may fail to warn pedestrians of a backing vehicle, increasing crash risk.
