MNIENT adult portable bed rails (model LQX-110055) have been recalled because users can become trapped between the rail and the mattress, creating a risk of death by asphyxiation. The rails also fail to meet structural stability requirements, posing a fall hazard, and have incorrectly sized push pins that can cause lacerations.

What is recalled

MNIENT Adult Portable Bed Rails, model LQX-110055. The rails have a white frame with black foam rubber handle grips and a black fabric pouch, and measure about 13 inches wide by 39 inches high. The brand name and model number appear on the front of the product packaging and on the label attached to the black fabric pouch.

You are affected if you own a MNIENT adult portable bed rail with model number LQX-110055. Check the front of the product packaging or the label on the black fabric pouch for the MNIENT brand name and that model number.

What to do right now

Stop using this bed rail immediately. To get a full refund, contact the manufacturer by email at [email protected]. You will be asked to cut the foam padding on the handle grips, photograph the destroyed rail, and email that photo to the same address.

The recalled bed rails violate the mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails because users can become entrapped within the bed rail or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress, posing a serious entrapment hazard and risk of death by asphyxiation.
