2025 NISSAN ALTIMA: AIR BAGS:CRITICAL FASTENERS

Nissan is recalling certain 2025 Altima vehicles because the front passenger air bag and front passenger knee air bag may have been installed with the wrong mounting fasteners. If those fasteners are incorrect, the air bags may not deploy properly in a crash, raising the risk of serious injury.

What is recalled

Certain 2025 Nissan Altima vehicles. Nissan's recall number is PD202. You can check whether your specific Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is included by searching at NHTSA.gov (VINs became searchable August 17, 2026).

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a 2025 Nissan Altima. Look up your 17-character VIN (found on your dashboard at the base of the windshield, or on your registration) at NHTSA.gov and enter it in the recall search to confirm your vehicle is included under Nissan recall PD202.

What to do right now

Take your vehicle to a Nissan dealer to have the air bag mounting fasteners replaced free of charge. Call Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 to schedule service or ask questions. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 25, 2026, but you do not need to wait for the letter to act.
