OCTROT electric heated sherpa throws and blankets are being recalled because the electrical cord can detach and ignite, creating a serious risk of fire, burns, and electric shock that could cause severe injury or death.

What is recalled
OCTROT-branded electric heated sherpa throws and blankets, sold on Amazon. Available in gray and yellow, white with gray, white with yellow, white with blue, and white with red. Five sizes: 50x62 inches, 50x60 inches, 62x84 inches, 64x84 inches, and 84x90 inches. Each has a white controller with five temperature settings; the controller cord has two or four small holes at the lower connection point. Model numbers printed on the packaging: OCT-5060, OCT-5062, OCT-6248, OCT-7284, and OCT-8490.

You are affected if you own an OCTROT electric heated throw or blanket with one of these model numbers on the packaging: OCT-5060, OCT-5062, OCT-6248, OCT-7284, or OCT-8490. Check the packaging for the OCTROT brand name and model number, and look at the white controller cord for two or four small holes at the lower connection point.
What to do right now
Stop using the throw or blanket immediately. To get a full refund, contact OCTROT, then destroy the product by unplugging the cord and cutting it in half.
