Petzl America Recalls ASTRO BOD FAST, ASTRO SIT FAST and CANYON GUIDE Harnesses Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fall Hazard

Petzl is recalling three models of work-at-height harnesses, the ASTRO BOD FAST, ASTRO SIT FAST, and CANYON GUIDE, because the D-ring attachment point can unexpectedly release and open. If this happens while a person is working at height, it could cause a serious fall injury or death.

What is recalled
Petzl ASTRO BOD FAST, ASTRO SIT FAST, and CANYON GUIDE harnesses intended for operators and work-at-height professionals. Affected model numbers and serial number ranges: • ASTRO BOD FAST (European Version): models C083AA00, C083AA01, C083AA02, serial numbers less than 23J 9999999 999 • ASTRO BOD FAST (International Version): models C083BA00, C083BA01, C083BA02, C083BA03, C083BA04, C083BA05, serial numbers less than 23J 9999999 999 • ASTRO SIT FAST: models C085AA00, C085AA01, C085AA02, serial numbers less than 23J 9999999 999 • CANYON GUIDE: models C086BA00, C086BA01, serial numbers less than 23J 9999999 999 All harnesses are black with a yellow accent, except models C083BA03, C083BA04, and C083BA05, which are all black. The serial number label is printed inside the waist belt.
