Petzl America Recalls ASTRO BOD FAST, ASTRO SIT FAST and CANYON GUIDE Harnesses Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fall Hazard

Petzl is recalling three harness models, the ASTRO BOD FAST, ASTRO SIT FAST, and CANYON GUIDE, used by workers at height. The D-ring attachment point can unexpectedly open and release, which could cause a serious fall injury or death.

What is recalled
Petzl ASTRO BOD FAST, ASTRO SIT FAST, and CANYON GUIDE harnesses intended for operators and work-at-height professionals. All are black with a yellow accent, except models C083BA03, C083BA04, and C083BA05, which are solid black. The serial number is printed on a label inside the waist belt. Only harnesses with the following model numbers AND a serial number less than 23J 9999999 999 are affected: - ASTRO BOD FAST (European version): C083AA00, C083AA01, C083AA02 - ASTRO BOD FAST (International version): C083BA00, C083BA01, C083BA02, C083BA03, C083BA04, C083BA05 - ASTRO SIT FAST: C085AA00, C085AA01, C085AA02 - CANYON GUIDE: C086BA00, C086BA01
Am I affected
You are affected if you own a Petzl harness with one of the model numbers listed above AND the serial number on the label inside the waist belt is less than 23J 9999999 999. Check both the model number and the serial number, since not every Petzl harness is included.
