Petzl America Recalls SIMBA and SWAN EASYFIT Harnesses Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fall Hazard

Petzl is recalling four models of climbing and adventure-park harnesses because they are missing rivets in the buckle, which can cause the buckle to open unexpectedly. A buckle failure while a person is suspended can result in a serious fall injury or death.

What is recalled
Four Petzl harness models, sold individually and in packs of five, all in gray/orange color combinations. Serial numbers are printed on plastic cards inside each harness. - SIMBA CLIMBING: serial numbers C065BA00 (single) and C065BA01 (pack of 5) - SIMBA PARK: serial numbers C065AA00 (single) and C065AA01 (pack of 5) - SWAN EASYFIT STEEL: serial numbers C062AA00 (single) and C062AA01 (pack of 5) - SWAN EASYFIT STAINLESS: serial numbers C062BA00 (single) and C062BA01 (pack of 5) The SIMBA models are children's harnesses designed for users 110 to 160 cm tall. The SWAN EASYFIT models are designed for adventure parks.
Am I affected
You are affected if you own or operate any of the following Petzl harnesses. Check the plastic card on the interior of the harness for the serial number: - SIMBA CLIMBING: C065BA00 or C065BA01 - SIMBA PARK: C065AA00 or C065AA01 - SWAN EASYFIT STEEL: C062AA00 or C062AA01 - SWAN EASYFIT STAINLESS: C062BA00 or C062BA01 All recalled harnesses are gray/orange and feature a FAST LT PIN-LOCK buckle system.

The hazard
The recalled harnesses are missing rivets in the FAST LT PIN-LOCK buckles, causing the buckles to open, posing a risk of serious injury or death from a fall hazard.
