Aterian Recalls PurSteam Elite Travel Steamers and Mighty Lil Steamers Due to Risk of Serious Burn Injury

Aterian is recalling PurSteam Elite Travel Steamers (Model PS-510) and PurSteam Mighty Lil Steamers (Model PS-550) purchased after December 2020 or bearing certain date codes. During normal use, these steamers can shoot hot water out of the steam nozzle, posing a serious burn risk.

What is recalled
PurSteam Elite Travel Steamer (Model PS-510), white, triangular steam-vent opening, and PurSteam Mighty Lil Steamer (Model PS-550), white, oblong steam-vent opening. Affected units were purchased after December 2020, OR have one of these date codes printed on the bottom label (in YYMM format): 2310, 2308, 2305, 2304, 2303, 2212, 2211, 2210, 2203, 2112, 2111, 2110, 0221, 1019, or 4619.
Am I affected
You're affected if you own a PurSteam Elite Travel Steamer (Model PS-510) or PurSteam Mighty Lil Steamer (Model PS-550) AND either (a) you purchased it after December 2020, or (b) the date code on the bottom label matches any of these: 2310, 2308, 2305, 2304, 2303, 2212, 2211, 2210, 2203, 2112, 2111, 2110, 0221, 1019, or 4619. Flip the steamer over, the model number and date code (YYMM format) are both on a label on the bottom.
What to do right now
Stop using the steamer immediately. Go to recall.pursteam.com, submit a Recall Request with your contact information, then cut the power cord and upload a photo of the steamer with the cut cord to receive a full refund. Hold on to your steamer for now, Aterian may send a prepaid shipping mailer and ask you to return it.
