Ritchey Design Recalls Carbon Bicycle Forks Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fall and Crash Hazards

Ritchey Design has recalled certain carbon fiber bicycle forks because a metal insert in the fork's front crown hole can loosen, causing an attached rack or accessory to fall onto the front wheel. This can cause a sudden crash, with a risk of serious injury or death.

What is recalled

Ritchey Carbon Fiber Bicycle Forks with a crown hole. The recall covers: Individual black carbon forks sold under these names: - WCS Carbon Mountain Adventure Fork - WCS Carbon Brevet Road Fork - WCS Carbon Adventure Gravel Fork - WCS Carbon Tapered Adventure Gravel Fork Forks included with these Ritchey framesets: - Montebello (Hot Sauce color) - Septimer (Black and White color) - Outback (Aurora and Winter Sage color) The "Ritchey" brand name appears on the fork. All carbon bicycle forks with a crown mounting hole are included in this recall.

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a Ritchey carbon fiber fork that has a threaded hole (crown hole) located above the front wheel. Check the fork for the "Ritchey" brand name and look for a threaded hole at the top of the fork crown. If that hole is present, your fork is included in this recall, whether the fork was purchased individually or came with a Montebello, Septimer, or Outback frameset.

What to do right now

Stop riding any bicycle fitted with a recalled Ritchey carbon fork immediately. Check the crown hole above the front wheel and remove any rack or accessory attached to it. The hazard
