Ritchey Design Recalls Carbon Bicycle Forks Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fall and Crash Hazards

Ritchey is recalling carbon fiber bicycle forks because a metal insert in the front crown hole can come loose, causing an attached rack or accessory to fall onto the front wheel and trigger a crash. This hazard can result in serious injury or death.

What is recalled
Ritchey Carbon Fiber Bicycle Forks with a crown hole. This covers forks sold individually and forks included with certain Ritchey framesets. The affected individual forks are: WCS Carbon Mountain Adventure Fork, WCS Carbon Brevet Road Fork, WCS Carbon Adventure Gravel Fork, and WCS Carbon Tapered Adventure Gravel Fork (all sold in black). The affected framesets are: Montebello (Hot Sauce color), Septimer (Black and White color), and Outback (Aurora and Winter Sage color). The "Ritchey" name appears on the fork.
Am I affected
You're affected if you own any carbon bicycle fork branded "Ritchey" that has a threaded crown hole above the front wheel. This includes the four individual WCS Carbon fork models listed above and any Ritchey Montebello, Septimer, or Outback frameset. Check the fork above your front wheel: if there is a threaded hole (with or without an attached rack or accessory), your fork is included in this recall.
What to do right now
Stop riding any bike fitted with this fork immediately. Check the front crown hole for any attached rack or accessory and remove it.
