Sangohe Adult Portable Bed Rail Recall (504E & 504Q)

Sangohe Reannounces and Expands Adult Portable Bed Rails Recall Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Entrapment and Asphyxiation; Violates Mandatory Standard for Adult Portable Bed Rails

Updated April 2, 2026

Sangohe is recalling two models of adult portable bed rails because users can become trapped between the rail and the mattress, a serious entrapment hazard that can cause death by asphyxiation. The rails also violate the mandatory federal safety standard and are missing required warning labels.

Is the Sangohe Adult Portable Bed Rails recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by CPSC on April 2, 2026. Details below.

What is recalled

Model number appears on the outer box, the product label/sticker on the rail, and page 1 of the instruction manual. • Model 504Q, black, 28.5 in. wide × 43.3 in. tall, 9 lbs. Model number appears on the outer box, the product label/sticker on the rail, and page 1 of the instruction manual.

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a Sangohe adult portable bed rail with model number 504E or 504Q. Check the outer packaging box, the label or sticker attached directly to the rail, or page 1 of the instruction manual for that model number.

What to do right now

Stop using the bed rail immediately. Then destroy it: cut the foam padding on the handrails and write "RECALLED" in permanent marker on both the upper and lower rails. Take a photo of the destroyed rail and email it to [email protected] to receive a full refund from Sangohe. The hazard

The recalled bed rails violate the mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails because users can become entrapped within the bed rail or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress, posing a serious entrapment hazard and risk of death by asphyxiation. In addition, the bed rails do not bear the required warning labels.
