2026 TESLA MODEL Y: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:FUSES, RELAYS, CONTACTS, AND SHUNTS

Tesla is recalling certain 2025 Model 3 and 2026 Model Y vehicles because the battery pack contactors may fail, cutting off drive power and increasing the risk of a crash. Tesla Service will replace the contactors for free.

What is recalled

Certain 2025 Tesla Model 3 and 2026 Tesla Model Y vehicles with potentially faulty battery pack contactors.

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a 2025 Tesla Model 3 or 2026 Tesla Model Y and have not yet had the battery pack contactor replaced by Tesla Service. Check your owner notification letter (mailed December 9, 2025) or call Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752 with your vehicle identification number (VIN) to confirm eligibility.

What to do right now

Contact Tesla Service at 1-877-798-3752 to schedule a free battery pack contactor replacement. Reference recall SB-25-16-005. Do not drive the vehicle until the repair is complete if you experience any loss of drive power.
