TooyBing Wooden Bead Stacking Toys Recalled Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Choking; Violate Small Parts Ban

TooyBing is recalling its Wooden Bead Stacking Toy (model TB-MZWJ) because the wooden beads are a deadly choking hazard for young children. The toy violates the federal small parts ban, meaning it should never have been sold for children under age three.

What is recalled

TooyBing Wooden Bead Stacking Toy, model TB-MZWJ. The set includes 25 multicolored wooden beads (pink, blue, red, orange, purple, green, white, and yellow), two wood sticks with yellow and red string laces, eight pattern cards, and one wooden pegged stand. The front of the packaging reads "TooyBing," "Montessori Wooden Toy," and "Fun Bead Sequencing Games." The back reads "Model number: TB-MZWJ."

You're affected if you own a TooyBing Wooden Bead Stacking Toy with model number TB-MZWJ printed on the back of the packaging. Check the packaging for the words "TooyBing," "Montessori Wooden Toy," and "Fun Bead Sequencing Games" on the front and "Model number: TB-MZWJ" on the back.

What to do right now

Stop using the toy immediately and keep it away from children. To get a free replacement, you must first destroy the toy: cut both the red and yellow string laces, then write "RECALLED" in permanent marker on the top of the wooden pegged stand. Email a photo of the destroyed toy to [email protected] and then throw the destroyed toy away. Replacement toys will not be available until October, so TooyBing will ask you to register and will contact you when one is ready.
