Voomf play yard mattresses and crib mattresses have been recalled because they may not fit properly inside play yards, creating gaps where a baby's face can become trapped, blocking breathing. The full-sized crib mattresses also fail flammability standards, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire.

What is recalled
Voomf-branded play yard mattresses and crib mattresses sold on Amazon. (1) Tri-fold aftermarket play yard mattresses: white with a neutral-colored letter or balloon print, approximately 38 inches by 26 inches by 3 inches. A label inside the mattress cover reads "Product Model: BYL001." (2) Full-sized crib mattresses: white with an aquamarine band and a zipper along the sides, approximately 25 inches by 27 inches by 5.5 inches. A label on the side reads "voomf."
Am I affected
You are affected if you own a Voomf play yard mattress or Voomf crib mattress purchased on Amazon. Check the label inside the mattress cover for "Product Model: BYL001" (play yard mattress), or check the label on the side of the mattress for "voomf" (full-sized crib mattress). If either label matches, stop using it immediately.
What to do right now
Stop using the mattress immediately. Then contact Voomf at [email protected] to request a full refund. You will be asked to destroy the mattress before disposal: write "Recalled" on it in permanent marker, cut the play yard mattress in half, and cut the crib mattress cover diagonally across the entire surface with scissors. Send a photo of the destroyed mattress to [email protected], then dispose of it according to your local or state disposal rules.

The hazard
The recalled mattresses violate the mandatory safety standard for crib mattresses because the mattresses may not adequately fit certain play yards, posing a deadly entrapment hazard. Babies can suffocate in gaps between an undersized mattress, or extra padding, and side walls of a product, especially when the infant's face becomes trapped against the side and the mattress, preventing the infant from breathing. Furthermore, the full-sized crib mattresses violate the mandatory flammability standard for mattress sets, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire.
